Ouya have launched a fund designed to raise the rate of income raised by developers on Kickstarter. Free The Games will release $1 million to match the crowdfunding efforts of a variety of developers.
Any team that starts a Kickstarter after August 9, and manages to raise $50,000 on their own, becomes eligible to have their funding efforts matched by Ouya. If they reach that stage, Ouya are willing to fund up to $250,000 per team to help with development.
There is a catch of course - any game that is funded by Free The Games is required to remain exclusive to Ouya for six months.
