Black Ice (Becca Fitzpatrick)

Alienated (Melissa Landers)

The Young Elites (Marie Lu)

White Space (Ilsa J Bick)

The Princess in Black (Shannon and Dead Hale) and some guy called John Green‘s new book too.

Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures: Book Trailer

Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures: Book Trailer

I can’t tell you how much I love Kate DiCamillo and her work (The Tale of Despereaux, Bink & Gollie) - she’s even won an award or three (Newbery Medal-winner!)

And Flora & Ulysses: The Illuminated Adventures does not disappoint!

I set out to tell the story of a vacuum cleaner and a squirrel. I ended up writing a book about superheroes, cynics, poetry, love, giant donuts, little shepherdess lamps, and how we are all working to find our way home. Seal blubber!

EW have an exclusive on the book trailer - go on - go check it out!

Artemis Fowl: The Movie is coming!

Artemis Fowl: The Movie is coming!

After years of questions - false hopes and rumours about what was happening - there is some real news about the Artemis Fowl film adaptation.

Producer Harvey Weinstein and Disney  are coming together to work up a live-action film version of the bestselling series - using the story from the first two books in the series. And it gets better…

The script is being written by Michael Goldenberg, (of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix fame) and Robert De Niro and Jane Rosenthal are both named as executive producers.

I feel as though everything is coming full circle considering Bob De Niro and Jane Rosenthal brought me this book while I was still at Miramax and within hours I told them I wanted the rights to the film. This is a special project for me because my children absolutely love this book. This story is for everyone and there is no one better than Disney to make a film that will excite people young and old. (Harvey Weinstein, quoted in Disney PR)

It’s still early days… BUT Artemis hitting screens is looking better than ever!

Some great suggestions from twitter when it comes to casting… Jason Statham as Butler, Saoirse Ronan as Opal and maybe Jack Gleeson as Artemis Himself.  Or Robert Sheehan?

Comics for Kids: Captain Ultimate

As the UK sees a comics for kids revival through The Phoenix and new releases, like Gary Northfield’s Teentinysaurs and Viv Schwarz’s A Place to Call Home, the US is seeking something very similar. (Not to mention that Viz are back in the game, WoW are looking at it too and there’s always Papercutz)

Fear not - Aw Yeah are having some great fun…  and now Joey Esposito and Ben Bailey have cooked up a new idea for a kids comic, published by MonkeyBrains. Meet Captain Ultimate!
