Bad news sports fans.

The companies behind the film adaptation of Joe Delaney‘s Spooks Apprentice film have pushed back the release date to 2014. That’s almost a year later than it was originally scheduled. The VFX team behind the movie have been in hot water for a while - with the studio shilling out $5m to try keep it open long enough to finish the film.

Seventh Son will now hit screens in January 2014. The shift does mean that Seventh Son will be directly competing with another book adaptation - this time Marcus Zusak’s The Book Thief.
