The Oscar nominations were announced yesterday - with not one but TWO Irish contenders and some fantastic books represented. Martin Scorsese’s adaptation of Hugo Cabret has received 11 nominations - with War Horse (adapted from Michael Morpurgo’s book) up for 6.
And there’s more - The Descendants, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, The Help and Moneyball are all adaptations too. Who said the book was dying??
