News from the Venice Film Festival, confirmed by Koji Hoshino, a senior producer at Studio Ghibli, is that Hayoa Miyazaki is to retire.
“Miyazaki has decided that Kaze Tachinu (The Wind Rises) will be his last film, and he will now retire.”
The director of My Neighbor Totoro, Spirited Away and Howl’s Moving Castle - his eleventh film, The Wind Rises, will be his last.
